Khenti-Amentiu - Warrior god, god of the underworld before Osiris (Asar)

Khenti-Amentiu was protector of the old royal cemetery in Abydos in Upper Egypt and is attested for already in the time of the unification of the country about 3200 B.C.

Ancient god of the dead of the city of Abydos; his name means “He who is head of the Westerners,” the Westerners in question being the dead. Osiris gradually absorbs him, until his name becomes little more than one of Osiris's epithets.
